Select the specimen of your choice and join us to learn traditional and modern techniques in the craft of taxidermy, creating a stunning professional mount that you will take home after a rewarding and in-depth experience.


Our workshops are designed to give you a thorough introduction to taxidermy. We will spend time with you developing new skills or perhaps assist in honing any skills you already have. You will confidentally leave with the ability to be able to pursue taxidermy further either practicing on your own or with the enthusiasm to learn more at an advanced level.

Your class is a tailor made experience for you, from the specimen you choose to the materials you will work with. Upon booking, unique items such as glass eyes are specially purchased for you from some of the world's finest taxidermy suppliers, ensuring your results look professional with great attention to detail.


BUTTERFLY PRESERVATION

Our 1-day workshop will teach you how to prepare, preserve and set a wide range of beautiful butterflies. You can also choose to work with a selection of moths or beetles. Instruction on how to care for specimens and conduct professional repairs is also taught.

Students take home at least 12 perfectly mounted bugs, setting boards, mounting pins, 1 presentation frame and an instruction pack.

This course is suitable for all levels of experience. All tools and materials provided. Refreshments provided throughout.

BIRD MOUNTING

A 2-day workshop to learn how to prepare, preserve and mount of bird specimen of your choice (see our booking page for a list of available specimens). You will also discover the history of taxidermy and receive instruction on how to care for specimens.

Students take home their finished mount and an informative PDF aftercare pack.

This course is suitable for all levels of experience. All tools and materials provided. Refreshments provided.

RABBIT MOUNTING

A 2-day workshop to learn how to prepare, preserve and mount of rabbit specimen of your choice (see our booking page for a list of available specimens). You will also discover the history of taxidermy and receive instruction on how to care for specimens.

Students take home their finished mount and an informative PDF aftercare pack.

This course is suitable for all levels of experience. All tools and materials provided. Refreshments provided.

You will have a dedicated desktop space during your tuition which is delivered by a skilled taxidermist with over 20 years experience of teaching the craft. His work has featured internationally in print, news, film, television, music videos, on the stage of world tours and adorns nooks and crannies of many high profile bars and restaurants.

Typical workshop timings are:

1-day workshop (butterfly mounting):

2-day workshop (full specimen mount, birds, rabbits etc)

You are welcome to adjust the start and end times of your workshop to suit travel arrangements, just let us know. It is generally not possible to make the length of classes shorter as you would miss out on valuable experience but we will do our best to assist should this be necessary.

Refreshments are provided throughout the class with tea/coffee facilities available.
